Tahkuranna Church, which was built in 1872, is architecturally rather unique in Estonia as red brick without natural stone was used to build it. These materials are traditionally used together when orthodox churches are built. The techniques and materials used to decorate the walls inside the church at Tahkuranna are also different from the traditional techniques and materials used in orthodox churches. You can admire the domed ceilings, panelled arches and ceiling paintings.
Useful information! The first President of the Republic of Estonia Konstantin Päts was christened in Tahkuranna Church.
