The Luitemaa Nature Reserve and the Tolkuse Bog and observation tower are some of the most unique sites in Pärnu County. Here, the tallest dune pines in Estonia are located, and the bog is more than 5,000 years old!
The hike takes us along the Timm Canal to the bog. On the way, we talk about the plants, fish, and birds of Estonia. If we are lucky, we will see a kingfisher in flight! In the spring, we smell water mint; in the summer, we swim in the bog lake; and in the autumn, we pick cranberries. The Tolkuse hiking trail takes us to the observation tower, where you can enjoy views of both the sea and the bog.
The most magical bogshoeing experience is when you come at sunrise or sunset!
