Metsamaa Traditional Farm is a unique cultural center on Kihnu Island, a traditional 20th-century farm complex located in Rootsiküla, which explores different aspects of traditional island life.
The renovated complex consists of the main house, barns, a smoke sauna and outdoor kitchen, and a country cellar.
Household utensils, folk costumes, and handicrafts typical of the UNESCO Kihnu Cultural Space are on display. Visitors can participate in handicraft and art workshops, order an authentic Kihnu folklore concert, or watch documentaries about island life. The farm hosts summer art camps, instrument camps, knitting camps, exhibitions, concerts, and village parties.
The Metsamaa Traditional Farm café, open during the summer season, is a cozy meeting place, where food and drinks made from local ingredients are served, and you can enjoy good coffee. We cater for groups of 10 or more people upon prior reservation.
We welcome culture enthusiasts, event organizers, camp visitors, and anyone who wants to experience the authenticity and warmth of Kihnu’s island community!
